Since founding the firm in 1998, Jake has dedicated his career to helping clients navigate their financial options and avoid potential pitfalls so they can enjoy their ideal retirement.
Jake’s strength lies in his ability to transform complex financial topics into understandable, actionable insights. He’s committed to building long-term relationships with his clients, empowering them with financial strategies that help minimize risk.
Before pivoting to finance, Jake led an adventurous life as a professional water skier, show director and performer. Combining his love for numbers and his passion for helping people, he eventually found his calling in financial services, inspired by two influential mentors.
Jake earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in business administration from Florida State University, and he holds his life, health and annuity insurance license. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).
In addition to his financial services firm, Jake has owned and operated several small businesses, including a convention services company and a real estate investment management company. He’s currently operating an RV park management and development company.
Jake and his wife, Kim, have been married for nearly three decades. Kim was born and raised in San Antonio, and Jake has lived here for more than 35 years. They have three grown children, three grandchildren and a rescue dog named Brooks.
The family loves to spend time together water skiing, snow skiing, taking family trips, playing soccer or pickleball, and supporting charities including San Antonio Oasis, Magdalena House and Young Life.

Kim joined her husband, Jake, in the retirement practice in 2000, and she continues to bring her talents and encouragement to colleagues and clients every day.
A licensed insurance agent, Kim ensures each client is treated like family as she serves their needs.
“I always try to put myself in our clients’ shoes and treat them like I would want to be treated,” she says.
Before joining Your Retirement Solutions, Kim spent a decade as a physical therapist assistant, specializing in senior home health care. She holds a degree in applied science.
A San Antonio native, Kim has been married to Jake for nearly three decades. The couple has three grown children, three grandchildren and a rescue dog, Brooks. Kim loves traveling, playing pickleball and spending time at the beach or lake.
